Day 5: Art Rebels – Breaking the Rules with Style
Date: Friday, October 4th, 2024
Time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Location: The Cardboard Castle, 15 Chaffinch Road, Hobsonville Point
Instructor: Terri Papagiannis

Programme Overview:

Welcome to Art Rebels – Breaking the Rules with Style! Today, we’ll draw inspiration from some of the most famous art rebels in history, such as Pablo Picasso, who reinvented form and perspective, and Jackson Pollock, who shattered the rules of traditional painting with his energetic drip techniques. Children will explore the exciting possibilities of breaking away from conventional art by experimenting with unconventional materials, layering techniques, and bold color choices. The focus will be on artistic freedom, encouraging children to express themselves without boundaries. After a morning of rebellious creativity, we’ll enjoy a picnic lunch at Hobsonville Point Waterpark, just steps from the studio. In the afternoon, we’ll either collaborate on a large abstract project or continue experimenting with personal ideas. With a small class size of 8-10 children, every artist will receive personal attention and encouragement to explore their unique creative style.

What to Bring:

  • Packed morning tea and lunch

  • Appropriate outdoor clothing

  • Water bottle

  • Clothes that can get messy

Pricing:

$85 for the full day, including all materials.
